Maharshi Mehi-Padaawali
"Maharshi Mehi-Padaawali" is the collection of spiritual poems (poetries). These hymns were composed by Sadguru Mehi Himself. In His words regarding these poems- "Those were the days when I used to compose the spiritual feelings, experienced in the meditation, as a poem. I had an utmost curiosity to express those spiritual experiences." And those expressions came out in the form of poems and became the crown of Sant's literature and the spiritual philosophy. Indeed, "Maharshi Mehi-Padaawali" is the manifest form of the inner spiritual journey by a true and real spiritual practitioner. The hymns are message to entire mankind. The depth of devotion, dedication, spiritual emotions and sincere love to Guru can not be measured which is evidently shown in His poems. His poem works as a light-pole on the way of inner journey for the practitioners. There are 144 hymns in total in "Maharshi Mehi-Padaawali" written in Bharati (Hindi) language. Here, some of them are being presented with its meaning --

O devotee! Search the inner light within. One who has inner sight ( who practises Drishti Yoga i.e. the Yoga of Vision) has seen this light. The devotee gets success to know this secret by serving the holy feet of Guru who knows the secret. The darkness is destroyed when consciousness-force is firmly fixed in the inner sky (the sphere or sky when eyes are closed is called inner sky) doing day and night regular practice of meditation. ||1||
Five colors of yellow, blue, red, white and black appear inside. Splendor light is enlightened within. The star of morning is seen inside. (A star is seen in the East before the sunrise. Similar to this, a star appears inside the inner sky during the practice of Drishti Yoga). ||2||
Moon is appeared, sun also is seen inside. The sound of the beginning (Aadi Shabda, or Shaar-Shabda) is achieved ultimately. One, who keeps oneself under the holy feet of Sadguru, gets this incomprehensible secret knowledge. ||3||
There are many kinds of actions (karma) which entangles the life in cobweb of its result and hence causes bondage. Baba Devi says to Maharshi Mehi that Only Sadguru (true and real Spiritual Preceptor) protects from these (shackles of bondage). ||4||

PRATHAM HI DHAARO GURU KO DHYAAN,
HO SHRUTI NIRMAL HO BINDU JNAAYAAN. ||1||
DOU NAINAA BICH SANMUKH DEKH,
EK BINDU MILAI DRISHTI DOU REKH. ||2||
SUKHAMAN JHALKAI TIL TAARAA,
NIRAKH SURAT DASHAMI DWAARAA. ||3||
JOTI MANDAL ME ACHARAJ JOT,
SHABDA MANDAL ANHAD SHABDA HOT. ||4||
ANHAD ME DHUN SAT LAU LAAY,
BHAVA JAL TARIBO YAHI UPAAY. ||5||
"MEHI" UKTI SARAL SAANCHEE,
LAHAI JO GURU SEVAA RAANCHI. ||6||

First and foremost meditate on Guru (Maanas-Dhyaan, with closed eyes concentrating over the holy figure of Sadguru). Through it consciousness-force will be pure and the knowledge of "Bindu" i.e. one-pointedness will be attained. ||1||
Concentrate at the place straight forward of the middle of two eyes. Both visions of two eyes will meet at the point. ||2||
Lighted Bindu (point) or star is seen in Sukhaman (Aajnaa-chakra). Consciousness-force sees in "Dasham Dwar" i.e. Aajnaa-chakra or Sukhaman. ||3||
In the sphere of light, there is very astonishing divine light. And in the sphere of sound, infinite sounds exist. ||4||
Dissolve your consciousness-force in the Saar-Shabda among those of inarticulate sounds. This only is the remedy to cross over the oceans of world. ||5||
Maharshi Mehi says this is the most true and simple way. The only pupil, who remains completely dedicated in the service of Guru, gets it. ||6||
